Web-Based Training Overview

EMTSP Web-based Training is made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Equipment Management Technical State Partnership (EMTSP), AASHTO Equipment Management Program (AEMP), and AASHTO Technical Training Solutions. These courses are developed for the purpose of promoting, supporting, and providing professional development training opportunities for Agency fleet management employees. Typically, course module content is focused upon fleet personnel, having a minimum of 3-5 years of basic fleet management experience, seeking to professionally progress and master advanced government fleet management business processes and communication skills.

Web-based Training is an online training tool that can be typically accessed from any computer with an Internet connection. Web-based training courses are self-paced and are not led by an instructor. You can access a Web-based training at any time, and return to it as many times as you wish

The EMTSP Education Committee is comprised of EMTSP Panel and general members throughout the partnership community. The committee is responsible for the development of course content. The training material content is developed as a collaborative work of the NCPP, SME’s and members of the EMTSP Education Committee. The course content is State DOT fleet management focused and is a collection of best practices from various Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) and State transportation agencies.

Web-based Training topics are developed, vetted and selected by the general EMTSP membership at each National Equipment Management Conference and Tradeshow. These Fleet Management WBT resources are developed to support training weaknesses and gaps identified by the EMTSP membership.

The materials are web-hosted and presented by the AASHTO Technical Training Solutions Program.
AASHTO Technical Training Solutions is a technical service program within AASHTO that focuses on developing training products for technical staff in the areas of construction, maintenance, and materials.
The EMTSP Fleet Management WBT modules are located within the technical category “Maintenance”.
All 50 state DOTs have used the AASHTO Technical Training Solutions web-based training resources, which are also being used by local governments, universities, consultants, contractors, industry, contractor organizations, and international groups.
