AASHTO is a nonprofit, nonpartisan association representing highway and transportation departments in the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. It represents all five transportation modes: air, highways, public transportation, rail, and water. Its primary goal is to foster the development, operation, and maintenance of an integrated national transportation system.

The AASHTO Committee on Maintenance (COM) The mission of the AASHTO Committee on Maintenance (COM) is to provide technical and policy guidance to the member states and support to the AASHTO organization to preserve and maintain a healthy and reliable highway infrastructure that meets the performance expectations of its customers. 

The Committee on Maintenance (COM), internally referenced as “MaC”, is organized into five Technical Work Groups (TWGs). The five TWGs are as follows: Bridge, Pavement, Equipment, Roadway/Roadside, and Maintenance Operations. There are also three Technical Service Programs that are overseen by COM: Transportation Systems Preservation (TPS2), Equipment Maintenance (EMTSP), and Snow & Ice (SICOP).

The National Center for Pavement Preservation (NCPP) @ Michigan State University, seeks to advance and promote sound preservation practices through education, research management, outreach, and hands-on technical assistance.

The Transportation Research Board engages professionals worldwide in a broad range of interdisciplinary, multi-modal activities to lay the foundation for innovative transportation solutions.Transportation practitioners, researchers, public officials, and other professionals need credible, high-quality information and research results to address the transportation challenges of the 21st century.

NAFA Fleet Management Association is a not-for-profit, individual membership professional society serving the needs of members who manage fleets of automobiles, SUVs, trucks and vans, and a wide range of specialized mobile equipment for organizations across the globe.NAFA provides its members a full range of products and services, including statistical research, monthly and annual publications, regional chapter meetings, government representation, seminars, online information, and an annual conference expo.

National Conference State Fleet Administrators is a nationwide network for information exchange facilitated by the annual conference, the quarterly newsletter, national surveys, and a compilation of fleet-related data and experience.

Association of Equipment Management Professionals is a resource for professionals in fleet asset management.
