ARTBA Honors Kobetsky for Lifetime Efforts to Improve Traffic Safety

The American Road & Transportation Builders Association this week honored Ken Kobetsky, AASHTO’s program director for engineering, for his outstanding work in the field of traffic safety.Kobetsky received ARTBA’s John Landen Memorial Safety Award on Tuesday during meetings of the National Committee on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and AASHTO’s Subcommittee on Traffic Engineering in Chicago. The award is presented annually by ARTBA’s Traffic Safety Industry Division to recognize an individual who has made significant lifetime contributions to the improvement of roadway infrastructure safety. 

Kobetsky will retire from AASHTO later this month after 50 years of work in the transportation field. (see May 14 AASHTO Journal story)
