ASCE-supported legislation to require continuing education for engineers in Washington state, HB 1900, was favorably reported last week from the House Business and Financial Services Committee and will now move on to a vote by the House. ASCE provided testimony, and is working with the Sections in Washington to generate support. The bill still faces some obstacles to passage this year, including concerns over the fiscal impact possibly required to oversee the new requirements. Washington ASCE members should visit ASCE’s “Click and Connect” advocacy website and take action on this legislation.
