State [of Minnesota] rates high in highway planning

Minnesota is among 13 states “leading the way” in measuring the impact of spending on transportation improvements, a national research organization reported.

The report by the Pew Center on the States and the Rockefeller Foundation said Minnesota collects data on its transportation system “that policymakers can use to advance economic competitiveness, improve citizens’ access to jobs” and pursue other goals.

Robert Zahradnik of the Pew project team said Minnesota has “a robust” amount of data to use in measuring performance of projects.
