John Deere Final Tier IV Engine Changes

Final Tier IV will start January 2013 25hp-74hp
Final Tier IV will start January 2014 174hp +
Final Tier IV will start January 2015 75hp-174hp

John Deere Interim Tier IV engines which are currently in use do not use any fuel additives.  It appears, however, at this time all diesel engines on the Final Tier IV requirements will have to use an additive to meet the EPA required emissions.

John Deere has already logged over 700,000 hours on Final Tier IV engines as of March 2012 in test studies and continues to refine these engines.  In these studies, John Deere has established a reduction in fuel consumption and less fluid additives used as compared with competitive units.  John Deere also has a Hybrid 644K Loader now in production and will have a 944K Hybrid before the end of this year.

Therefore, all units will be Interim Tier IV until at least January 2013 with many added on January 2014 and January 2015 as stated above.  All John Deere Interim Tier IV engines do not require added fluids and comply with EPA governmental requirements.
